Today we're travelling to the centre of the country to bring you all the news from the Dão, Bairrada and Lisbon regions.
From the Dão region, we must highlight the new single varietals from Casa da Passarella, more specifically the Fugitivo range. A range of wines that only appear in unique years and unique conditions, in very limited quantities. Wines that challenge all the established norms. We have now Tinta Amarela, Tinto Cão and Baga.
From Bairrada come the new wines from Caves Messias, the Millésime Brut sparkling and Valdoeiro Rosé, a wine with a fresh and vibrant flavour, just right for these spring days.
From Lisbon, we'd like to highlight Quinta de Vale Mourisco, where the wines narrate the weight of its centuries-old history and tradition. Five hectares of vineyards are home to grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Syrah, Alicante Bouchet, Tinta Roriz, Fernão Pires, Chardonnay and Viognier. Lisbon wines with a more ‘international’ profile, as the region has become accustomed to.
Finally we're talking about a new producer in shop, Cas'Amaro and its properties in the Dão and Lisbon.
Speaking of Dão, the wines are produced on the right bank of the River Mondego with the Serra da Estrela as a backdrop. Wines with an innovative image, produced with the region's indigenous grape varieties, such as Encruzado, Cerceal, Malvasia Fina, Rabo de Ovelha and Bical in the whites, and Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, Jaen and Tinta Roriz in the reds.
In Lisbon, the wines are born in the sub-region of Alenquer and come from the irreverent brands of Três Corujas, Falatório and Madame Pió.
