At this 12th anniversary fair, we're betting big on red wines, with around 350 wines on offer. This is the time for red wines. The cold days and the winter dishes always call for a good red at the table.
Among the red wines on sale, there's something for all tastes and prices, so it's always tricky when it comes to buying.
To help you, we've selected the 60 best-selling red wines of last year and in the selection we've created, the wines are sorted starting on the best sellers.
Obviously in first place is a wine that almost all of us know, Vidigal Porta 6. If you're one of the few who hasn't tried it yet, we highly recommend this winning combination of Tinta Roriz, Castelão and Touriga Nacional.
In the next two positions, other sales heavyweights, Confidencial Reserva from Casa Santos Lima, and Monte Velho from Herdade do Esporão.
From then on you'll find some of Portugal's most classic wines, such as Periquita in the Setúbal region, Cabeça de Toiro in the Tejo region, Quinta do Crasto, CARM and Burmester in the Douro region and Dom Rafael, Cartuxa and Esporão in the Alentejo region.
For the more daring, there are some new wines in the shop that have quickly become best sellers, either because of the irreverent image or the perceived quality. These are the Alfacinha Reserve, the Montaria Reserve, the 200 Gallons Reserve and the Smiling Donkey.
In this selection of best sellers, all with a discount during this anniversary week, you'll find reds from the entry level to the most premium range. Take advantage of this opportunity to top up your wine cellar or th get to know our members' tried and tested reds.
