Product details
Hand-harvested into 15 kg boxes. Reception with total destemming and gentle crushing, followed by prolonged maceration. Aged in used French oak barrels and naturally clarified, aided by the biting cold of the Serra da Estrela mountain range. Marufo is an ancient grape variety, whose synonym, Mourisco Preto (Black Moor), suggests that it dates back to the time of the Arabs. It exists in many old vineyards in the Beira Interior region, mixed with other varieties. Therefore, it deserves the dedication to recover this great variety on the verge of extinction.
