Tonico White 2021

Alentejo
17,5 pts Vinho Grandes Escolhas - Visually, it appears straw yellow, light gold, shiny. The aroma is challenging! It is discovered slowly, but it shows enormous complexity from the beginning. The earthy impact of the butcher's clay mixes with notes of ripe fruit, Orange Jam, Marmalade and Pear. Rich and intense. Time in the glass renews the earthy notes and highlights the complexity. The mouthfeel is intense and multi-textured. It has an evident unctuousness that is counterbalanced by the firmness of elegant but present tannins. The acidity is lively and surprisingly flavourful, bringing enormous balance and length. Ends long and very complex.

Product details

Winemaking:
The grapes, harvested manually into 15 kg boxes, are de-stemmed and placed in hoists. Fermentation occurred smoothly, using native yeasts and with some stirring of the blanket. It fermented in total contact with the skins, in a fermentation that lasted about a month. The new wine remained in skin contact. We only use tear wine, what has flowed, filtered through the pasta itself. We transferred this wine to a stainless steel tank, always full, where it remained until bottling.

Grape Varieties:
Antão Vaz,Diagalves,Roupeiro,Manteúdo,Perrum
