Each producer chose particularly expressive wines from the 2017 harvest from their cellar and brought them to the blending sessions. Owners and winemakers sat together for tastings and discussions. It took three nights of hard work until they agreed on the best and most complex – powerful yet elegant, deep yet refreshing – final batch. The result is a remarkably inspiring wine, notable for its concentration, vitality and great potential for maturation and expressive development. This wine unifies the structured elegance of Vallado, the uncompromising freshness of Niepoort, the fruity character of Crasto, the aristocratic minerality of Vale D. Maria and the charming body of Vale Meão. It is a remarkable wine, marked by the personality of the Douro. The bottling occurred at Quinta do Vallado and only 750 Magnums were produced.

Tasting Notes:
It is intense red, with purple tones. On the nose it is intense and elegant, with notes of red fruits. Deep flavor and very present tannins, combining the fencing structure, the freshness of Niepoort, the fruity character of Crasto, the minerality of Vale Dona Maria and the body of Meão.
Store and Serve Advices:
Good aging potential. Serve at 16-18°C.

The wines from our rarity zone are stored and air-conditioned in the most correct way so that the wine ages correctly in the bottle, but over time, the wine evolves and changes its characteristics.
We recommend that you carefully remove the cork and let the wine air for some time in order to release its natural aromas. Avoid decanting as it can be a very aggressive operation for old wines.
