The Marias da Malhadinha Red is based on the Old Vineyards of Vale Travessos planted in 1949. Grapes were hand harvested, carried in small boxes of 12 kgs to the winery and kept separate throughout the whole fermentation process which occurred with controlled temperatures in small open mills and were the grapes were crushed by foot following the traditional method. Marias da Malhadinha aged for 26 months in new French Oak Barrels, plus 12 months in the bottle.

Tasting Notes:
With a concentrated ruby colour, a complex nose with notes of red and wild fruit, a vegetal and spicy touch from the high quality barrel stage. Full and dense in the mouth, with present but fine tannins and an elegant and very long finish, a Marias for the table and the cellar.
Store and Serve Advices:
It should be served at a temperature of 16ºC to 18ºC.
Food Pairing:
This wine finely accompanies red meats, roast beef and grilled meats.
