Product details
Quinta da Boavista Vinha do Oratório is a wine whose grapes come from a single plot, which received the name Oratório due to its impressive undulating terraces measuring almost 8 meters high. The harvest is done manually, with manual selection of bunches. The berries are de-stemmed and gently crushed. Traditional granite presses with foot treading were used as fermentation reservoirs. Subsequently, the wine aged in French oak barrels for at least 18 months. All wines are sealed with natural cork. Not being filtered or stabilized by cold, they can give rise to a precipitate with age.

Tasting Notes:
Deep in color and dense in aroma, red fruit and black plums are harmoniously integrated with the balsamic, spicy and smoky notes of aging in French oak casks. In the mouth it is silky, vibrant and complex, where the tannic structure is meticulously inserted, demonstrating the capabilities of a vineyard over 90 years old. This Oratory is a return to the past in the Douro and a tribute to all those who contributed to the fact that we are still able to obtain Terroir wines in a region as inhospitable as this one.

Disclaimer:
The photo shown is a copy of one of the bottles we have available for delivery. Keep in mind that the older the wine, the more likely the bottle will have some external dirt or slightly damaged labels. This does not mean, however, that the wine is not in a condition to be consumed.
The wines from our rarity zone are stored and air-conditioned in the most correct way so that the wine ages correctly in the bottle, but over time, the wine evolves and changes its characteristics.
We recommend that you carefully remove the cork and let the wine air for some time in order to release its natural aromas. Avoid decanting as it can be a very aggressive operation for old wines.
