Familia Margaça Talhão 02 Sousão Red 2021

Alentejo
17,5 pts Vinho Grandes Escolhas - A deep violet colour that immediately shows its intensity. The nose is clean, highly perfumed and immediately pleasurable. Herbaceous notes of fresh herbs such as mint, eucalyptus and camphor come to the fore giving freshness, followed by aromas of warm spices, chocolate and smoke. Fruity aromas of ripe cherries and wild berries complete the complex and inviting bouquet. The palate is surprisingly balanced despite its warm matrix, typical of a top-of-the-range wine from the deep Alentejo. Concentration is evident, with present but well-polished tannins and an acidity, typical of the Sousão grape variety, that becomes noticeable towards the end of the tasting. The spicy aromas are even more evident on the palate.

Store and Serve Advices:
This wine is ready to be tasted and will benefit from 3 to 5 years of ageing. Complex, intense and very aromatic, we recommend drinking this wine at 17-18ºC.

Food Pairing:
A wine to be drunk at the table. Fire up the grill or wood oven! Dishes that can match its intensity and where the smoke is evident, such as roasts or grilled meats, will be happy alongside this wine. The typical lamb or kid roasts with fresh herbs or the classic lamb stew with hot spices - usually cloves - will be perfect pairings.

Allergens:
Contains sulphites.
