Winemaking:
This is a blend of old Port wines with an average age of ten years. At ten years old the wine has already acquired the classic tawny characteristics of nuts, dried fruits and spices, but retains also a vibrant freshness which is one of the characteristics of Romaneira’s tawnies. The grapes were trodden by foot and vinified in stainless steel “lagares” with temperature control between 25 and 28 degrees Celsius. Ageing in old oak barrels of 640 liters. The old tawnies spend their entire life in barrel until the moment of the final blend.

17 points·Romaneira Tawny 10 years Port

Shaping the profile of 10 years, jam, red fruits, thin style, very good volume of mouth, with perfect texture, with good fruit dry, licorado, all in great shape. Very attractive as a whole. Bottled 2014.

86 points·Romaneira Tawny 10 years Port

Strong sweet raisin flavors give fruitiness. It is bright, with a streak of acidity that brings out red fruits as well as soft tannins. The aftertaste has a burnt quality, with intense acidity right at the end.

87 points·Romaneira Tawny 10 years Port

Crisp, with good structure to the hazelnut cream and dried berry flavors. Finishes with notes of roasted almond. Drink now. 650 cases made.
