Product details
This wine expresses the uniqueness of our old vines, preserving viticultural biodiversity and rescuing the history of ancestral grape varieties. Southern sun exposure influences the aromatic notes of the wines, providing a more intense and consistent ripening of the grapes. With greater sunlight throughout the day, the vines develop fruit with a higher concentration of sugars and phenolic compounds, resulting in fuller-bodied, structured wines with more expressive aromas that tend to be more intense and complex, highlighting dark fruits such as black cherry, as well as floral and spice nuances. Aged for 24 months in new 225L French oak barrels.
Grape Varieties:
Field Blend
Tasting Notes:
Aromatically, the floral notes are prominent, especially the violets – a result of the high quantity of Touriga Nacional grapes – combined with ripe black fruit and black spice and new oak. On the palate, the fruit shines, the oak tames the tannins, and the spice grows immensely. Quinta dos Loivos Sul finishes precisely, lingeringly, and intensely.
