Tasting Notes:
Intense ruby colour. Deliciously fragrant and clean. Intense floral aromas, so characteristic of Touriga Nacional, complemented by ripe red fruit and nuances of sweet grass. Ageing in barrels has given it notes of chocolate, light spice and smoke. The palate is very well balanced, with a notable acidity that gives freshness to an intense, full-bodied wine with tannins that are present but polished. In the retro nasal aromas, hot spices like cinnamon and cloves stand out, giving the wine another dimension. It finishes firm, fresh and long, begging for another taste.
Store and Serve Advices:
An excellent wine for immediate consumption, but it will benefit from 3 to 5 years of ageing. As it's a full-bodied wine with lively acidity and lots of flavour, we recommend serving it between 16 and 17ºC.
Food Pairing:
With a very aromatic but serious character, it is the perfect companion for intense meat dishes or barbecues. Its high freshness and firm tannins make it perfect for typical Alentejo dishes where Iberian pork and bread, garlic and olive oil migas reign. Beef cuts, intense and rich in fat, such as Picanha or Alcatra also harmonise very well with this wine. Sauces based on chilli or mustard are highly recommended.
