Product details

Winemaking:
Croft is one of the oldest Port wine producing houses. It was founded more than four centuries ago, in 1588. It owns Quinta da Roêda, often referred to as the jewel of the Douro Valley vineyards. This famous estate produces round, ripe and powerfully fruity wines, which form the essence of Croft's vintage Port blends. Croft has remained faithful to its distinctive style of vintage Port, which is characterized by powerful, ripe fruit and a round, delicious palate. With age, Croft vintages develop great aromatic complexity and a smooth, velvety texture. However, this smooth and round palate is deceiving, as it hides the enormous energy and aging potential that Croft's vintage Ports possess.

92 points·Croft Vintage Port 2007

Nice structure, again: lovely expressive berry fruits with good density.

17,5 points·Croft Vintage Port 2007

Very very ripe black fruit, mineral and lush in a fragrant and full of freshness. Full of fruit and concentration, with beautiful harmony. Structured and with some dryness in mouth with spunk and character. Ends long.

93 points·Croft Vintage Port 2007

The 2007 Croft Vintage has a soft, fig and date-scented bouquet that opens up beautifully in the glass, warm and inviting. The palate is medium-bodied with soft, supple tannin, a fine line of acidity and a ripe finish with dark cherries, boysenberry jam and a citric edge lending poise and delineation. There is a nice hint of fieriness on the finish that gives it a little hubris and brio, though not excessively, since that would not be in keeping with Croft’s style.

87 points·Croft Vintage Port 2007

With its dry, dark side, this wine offers firm tannins to go with the somewhat austere structure. Of course there is sweetness here and an attractive perfumed violet aroma, but the texture dominates.

92 points·Croft Vintage Port 2007

Shows aromas of very ripe fruit and sweet tobacco, with hints of earth and spices. Full-bodied and medium sweet, with round, velvety tannins and a long, fruity finish. Likeable for its soft texture. Best after 2016.
