Product details
After manual harvesting, the grapes are destemmed, crushed and vinified in stainless steel vats or traditional granite lagares. Maceration facilitates the extraction of the essential compounds that give the wine its colour, aroma and flavour. Fermentation is interrupted by the addition of grape spirit, a fundamental stage in the Port production process. The wines are aged in the Porto Ferreira cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia, in traditional oak casks. During this period, they are frequently subjected to racking, analyses and tastings, allowing us to monitor their evolution. After ageing, the final blend is made from a refined selection of wines, which are then clarified and stabilised before bottling.
