Winemaking:
This Frasqueira results from the mixture of two wines, both from the same vineyard, but with completely different aging and stages. In the 1994 harvest, part of the Verdelho must came from Seixal to our winery, in Funchal. Here we carried out fermentation control with 1.8 Baumé fortification. The other part of the wine remained in the cellar where it was fortified after complete fermentation, in an extra dry state. This part of the wine remained in the seaside warehouse until it was used in a 50/50 blend with Verdelho from our warehouses. With this practice, a balance was sought with the mixture of wines from different environments.

Tasting Notes:
Gold Colour. Bouquet with smoked aromas, tobacco leaf, wax, cedar, nuts and salted caramel. Salty taste, lime flavour, increasing saliva and very persistent. Pointy, very present acidity in a fresh and dry finish.
Store and Serve Advices:
Recommended temperature 14/16ºC. It remains in good condition for several months after opening.

Excellent as an aperitif.
