Vieira de Sousa 40 Year Old Tawny is produced with grapes from the estate's oldest vineyards along the Douro River. Fermentation took place in lagares with foot treading. After fortification with brandy, the wine was aged for many years in barrels and old oak casks in our warehouses along the Douro Valley.

Tasting Notes:
A unique tawny port of great age with the characteristic olive ochre colour of the very oldest ports matured in cask. Nose of incredible power and density, unashamedly dominated by an all-pervading aroma of fine oak wood. Here, the typical aromas of cask ageing abound: spicy smells of clove, cinnamon, nutmeg and liquorice, warm roasted coffee smells, and an intense nuttiness reminiscent of walnut and hazel.
Store and Serve Advices:
Store horizontally at a ± 15º C, constant temperature. Best served at 15 - 18ºC.
Food Pairing:
It can be drink fresh, like an aperitif or at the end of a meal with cheese or chocolate desserts.
