The Best Wines of 2025 have already been revealed at the awards ceremony for the 12th edition of the Concurso Vinhos de Portugal, an initiative organised by ViniPortugal.
Among the 1,300 wines in the tasting, Quinta do Crasto Touriga Nacional 2020 was voted the best wine of the year. Kopke Colheita 1966 was the big winner in the fortified wine category, Chryseia 2022 stood out among the red wines and Quinta do Sobreiró de Cima Grand Reserve 2022 was considered the best white of the year. We think it's important to emphasise that this is a great buy, as we're talking about a wine that costs 14.39 euros (plus VAT) and was considered the best in its category. A great value for money not to be missed!
Also noteworthy are some wines that won the Grand Gold medal and are excellent buying opportunities, such as Vinha de Saturno White 2019, Vallegre Touriga Nacional 2016 and Herdade do Gamito Reserve Red 2020.
The Vinhos de Portugal competition is a benchmark event in the sector, an important initiative for highlighting the unique quality of Portuguese wines and, at the same time, helping consumers to make a more informed choice when buying. The initiative also reinforces Portugal's position in foreign markets as a country of excellence in wine production.
