Product details
80-Year-Old Tawny Port is an exceptional wine, resulting from a blend of Port wines aged in 550-liter casks for many years in the Quinta da Pacheca freshwater warehouse. During aging, the wine transforms its red colour into various shades of amber, brown, and, when very old, with greenish hues. Sugar concentration increases, as does acidity due to esterification, also creating a vinegary acidity.
Grape Varieties:
Touriga Franca,Tinta Amarela,Tinta Francisca,Tinta Roriz,Tinto Cão,Mourisco,Sousão
Tasting Notes:
An amber-coloured wine with greenish hues. On the nose, it's very intense and rich, with aromas of caramel, dried fruits (walnuts and figs), spices, and a slight hint of spice. On the palate, it's equally intense, with pronounced acidity and sweetness, revealing a sublime complexity and a lingering finish.
Store and Serve Advices:
It should be served at 16ºC.
Food Pairing:
It pairs well with traditional Portuguese convent sweets, especially Pudim Abade de Priscos, or with Gouda cheese aged for at least five years. However, it's best enjoyed on its own, as it's a veritable symphony of aromas and flavours that requires no accompaniment.
Allergens:
Contains sulphites.

Disclaimer:
The photo shown is a copy of one of the bottles we have available for delivery. Keep in mind that the older the wine, the more likely the bottle will have some external dirt or slightly damaged labels. This does not mean, however, that the wine is not in a condition to be consumed.
The wines from our rarity zone are stored and air-conditioned in the most correct way so that the wine ages correctly in the bottle, but over time, the wine evolves and changes its characteristics.
We recommend that you carefully remove the cork and let the wine air for some time in order to release its natural aromas. Avoid decanting as it can be a very aggressive operation for old wines.
