Product details
Grapes from a single harvest are hand-picked into small shipping crates and vinified using the traditional Port wine method. After partial destemming, the grapes are crushed in stone presses with foot treading. The must ferments at a controlled temperature and is interrupted by the addition of brandy. This wine, as produced, has great aging potential. A single-harvest wine, aged in oak barrels for a minimum of 7 years. The year of bottling is indicated on the back label.
Grape Varieties:
Old Vines
Tasting Notes:
Striking notes of ripe fig, dried fruits such as walnuts and almonds, a touch of vanilla, and exotic wood from the oak aging. Delicate notes of candied fruit and a light touch of spice also emerge, lending complexity and elegance. Good structure and balance, with intense flavours of raisins, honey, and chocolate, accompanied by nuances of caramel and toasted nuts. Vibrant acidity brings freshness, and the finish is long, smooth, and enveloping.
Store and Serve Advices:
Store the bottle upright at a constant temperature and away from light. After opening, consume within 1 to 4 months.
Food Pairing:
A pleasant accompaniment to dried fruits: almonds, raisins, peaches, and apricots. It also pairs well with sweet desserts, such as egg or nut pies, coffee, and vanilla. However, this wine can be enjoyed on its own, chilled, or at the end of a meal. Because Port is a natural product, it's prone to deposits.
Allergens:
Contains sulphites.
