Product details
The grapes were hand-harvested at their ideal ripeness, seeking greater aromatic and polyphenolic concentrations. The vinification was carried out in a wine press, with foot treading, for greater extraction and softening of the grapes, thus allowing the quality constituents present in their skins to pass gently into the wine. The must is then transferred to stainless steel vats, where light pumping over and prolonged maceration are carried out at controlled temperatures. After malolactic fermentation, the wine aged for 12 months in new and first-year French oak barrels.
Grape Varieties:
Touriga Nacional,Touriga Franca,Sousão
Tasting Notes:
Deep ruby colour. On the nose, the complexity of the blend of grape varieties from old vines conveys a pronounced initial intensity of rockrose, with notes of red fruit such as cherry, strawberry and black fruit stewed with plums and blackcurrants, ending with notes of toasted wood and sensations of coffee and smoke. On the palate, it is voluminous, with present but polished tannins, of great persistence, where wild fruits and notes of coffee and cocoa stand out, with a long finish and a pronounced intensity. A wine that can be drunk now, but with great ageing potential.
