Product details
Ururabo means Flower in the Bantu language. ‘Vinho de Flor’, as its name suggests, has the particularity of ageing in Jerez boots, under a “veil” of flor yeasts, which develops on the surface of the wines in contact with oxygen. This process is known worldwide above all for its representation in the famous fortified wines of Jerez de la Frontera in Spain. Niepoort Ururabo is the result of applying this technique to the vinification of a typical Douro grape variety to produce a calm wine with the oxidative character of a Jerez. Manual vinification, malolactic fermentation in Jerez ‘Bota’, fermentation in stainless steel, ageing for 12 months in Jerez ‘Botas’.
