Croft Quinta da Roêda Vintage Port 2019

Port Wine
95 pts Wine Spectator - Deep reddish black at the core with a broad ruby rim. On the nose the fruit is ripe and juicy, with aromas of cherry and strawberry combining with notes of blackberry and black currant, but with a lot of freshness to balance the opulence of the fruit. The exotic, resinous and herbaceous character typical of Roêda, with notes of eucalyptus and mint, is clearly in evidence and there is also an attractive perfume dimension with notes of dried rose petals and cedar wood. However, the spotlight remains on the soft, opulent fruit that emerges again on the palate and continues through to the long finish. Although the palate is round and light and the tannins are velvety and discreet, the fresh acidity gives the wine firmness and vigor. A Vintage in the Roêda tradition, captivating, seductive and easy to drink, but with a lot of depth and structure.

A vintage Port is a wine of a single harvest of outstanding quality. The wine must be bottled between the second and third year of age, maturing henceforth in bottle.
