It’s an old tradition that these festive days are paired with a Colheita Port, a wine from a single year's harvest that spends at least 7 years in barrels before being released onto the market.
In these Tawny-style Ports, you will find the typical color close to caramel, the tertiary aromas of dried fruits, candied fruits and spices. Once opened, this Port can last a good few months without losing its qualities because it has already gone through a slow oxidation process during its time in barrel.
The best way to enjoy these Ports is slightly chilled and accompanied with desserts made with dried fruits, eggs or even as a digestive after a meal.
