To satisfy the demand for a full bodied and fruity Late Bottled Vintage Port, displaying all its natural richness and concentration, Fonseca developed in 2003 the unfiltered version of its then highly acclaimed Late Bottled Vintage. This proved so popular that Fonseca LBV is now offered only in the unfiltered version. The Fonseca Unfiltered LBV is aged in oak vats, where it gradually matures and falls bright. It is then drawn off into bottle with no fining or filtration. The result is a naturally expressive wine which has sacrificed none of its depth and fullness of flavour. As this LBV is not filtered, it is possible that a light sediment may form in the bottle after two or three years.

Tasting Notes:
Appealing fresh and intense blackcurrant and cherry aromas with hints of eucalyptus and spice. The palate displays wonderfully luscious, rich black fruit flavour supported by firm but supple tannins. A sumptuous and richly flavoured Port which should have pride of place on any dining table.
Store and Serve Advices:
Fonseca Unfiltered LBV is ready to drink immediately and makes an excellent by the glass alternative to Vintage Port for more relaxed and informal occasions.
Food Pairing:
Food is what really brings this wonderful Port wine to life. Whether it be rich blue veined cheeses such as Stilton and Roquefort or a sumptuous chocolate cheesecake.
