Product details
The grapes, hand-picked and placed in small containers, were transported to the wine presses where they were trodden by foot. Fermentation lasted 3 to 5 days, producing a wine with excellent extraction. The wine was aged in Vila Nova de Gaia in vats of approximately 15,000 liters. It did not undergo any cold or heat treatment or filtration, which retains all of the fruit's potential as well as the long aging process.
Grape Varieties:
Traditional grape varieties
Tasting Notes:
Still a very intense red center with a garnet-coloured outer ring. Somewhat closed on the nose, it slowly reveals notes of cherry, ripe black plums and hints of dark chocolate, cocoa and tobacco. A full-bodied wine on the palate with vibrant flavours of quince, chocolate, fruit liqueur and dried fruits. Soft but present tannins and a long and harmonious finish.
