Product details

Winemaking:
Porto Tawny 50 Years is an exceptional wine resulting from a batch of Port Wines that have aged in 550-litre casks over many years in the cool warehouse of Quinta da Pacheca. During ageing, the wine changes its red colour into various shades of amber and brown, with greenish tinges when the wine is very old. The sugar concentration increases and the acidity increases due to esterification phenomena, also giving rise to an acidity that we call vinegary.

Grape Varieties:
Traditional grape varieties

Tasting Notes:
This wine has an intense aroma of nuts, chocolate, spices, toffee and caramel. On the palate there is a very fresh complexity, toffee, caramel, dried fruits with the persistence that only a very old wine can achieve.
