Quinta da Sequeira, located in the municipality of Vila Nova de Foz Côa, was founded in 1899 by José Joaquim Costa, married to Maria José Sequeira, named after the Quinta. Currently, with 15 ha of vineyards, Quinta da Sequeira is owned by Mário Cardoso and Maria da Graça, the great-grandfather of its founder.
They deeply believe in the importance of the personality and character of the wines, using only the best and traditional Douro grape varieties, with predominance of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela and Tinta Baroque in the red varieties, and the white Malvasia Fina. Gouveio, Rabigato, Viosinho and Códega do Larinho. They still have the best plots of old vines, some over one hundred years old, which although less productive, offer the highest concentrations.
