Tasting Notes:
Maynard's 80 Year Old presents itself with a deep amber hue, almost touching mahogany. The aroma is an intricate tapestry of fragrances. First impressions reveal an abundance of dried fruit, dominated by succulent raisins and sun-dried figs, candied orange peel, and crystallized ginger. On the palate, it is a revelation of opulence; the dried fruit continues to shine, with dates and dried plums taking center stage, accompanied by a cascade of flavors including toffee, molasses, and dark chocolate. Each sip is a journey through history, a testament to the remarkable character that only decades of aging can bestow upon a Port of this caliber.
