Hand-picked at their optimum point, the grapes are destemmed, crushed and vinified using a process based on careful maceration to extract colour, tannins and aromas from the skins, complemented by constant pumping over during fermentation. Fermentation takes place in wine presses at a controlled temperature of between 28 and 30ºC until the desired Baumé level is reached. At this stage, grape brandy (benefit) is added, resulting in a fortified wine. This is an exceptionally high-quality wine from a single harvest and must be bottled between the second and third year after harvest. Originally a dark, complex, full-bodied wine with remarkable ageing potential.

Opaque in colour with slight violet tones. Elegant on the nose with a unique refinement that characterises Burmester’s Single Quinta Vintages, revealing dense aromas of wild berries, violet notes, cassis and a subtle touch of resin. On the palate it is fresh and delicate with elegant and fine tannins evolving in a balanced and surprising way. Long and delicious finish with excellent character. A fantastic wine from an absolutely unique Quinta. Endless fruity finish.
Store and Serve Advices:
Store the bottle horizontally in a dark place at a constant temperature, ideally between 12ºC and 15ºC.
Food Pairing:
The explosion of fruit and the unique style justify an extraordinary pairing with chocolate-rich desserts, such as chocolate fondants with blackcurrant sauce or a dark chocolate mousse. Blue or hard cheeses, such as Serra da Estrela, are also an excellent pairing. The exceptional quality of this wine makes it something unique, worthy of being enjoyed alone or with a pleasant cigar.
