Product details
Colheita are Tawny Ports from a single harvest. The minimum age requirement is seven years, but it is Niepoort's tradition to age the wine for many more years before bottling. The wine ages in the Vila Nova de Gaia cellars in small oak barrels under the care of Master Blender José Rodrigo Nogueira. The grapes were trodden in a mill in the Vale de Mendiz winery and the wine was aged in the cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia in 550-litre barrels. At Niepoort, the Colheitas are bottled with a minimum of 10 years of ageing.

Tasting Notes:
The colour is beautiful, with orange and brick tones and good depth. The nose reveals a matured wine, the result of ageing in pipas (small old oak barrels). It has notes of cherry, apricot, orange peel, caramel and spices integrated with hints of smoke. The palate is characterised by vibrant acidity, structure and an endlessly spicy finish.
