Traditional Port winemaking where the fermentation is stopped by the addition of wine brandy. First 3 years in tonéis (large oak barrels) and the remaining years in 600 litters oak barrels; ages at least for 7 years.
Grape Varieties:
Touriga Nacional,Touriga Franca,Tinta Amarela,Tinta Barroca,Rufete
Tasting Notes:
Deep colour, almost opaque. Notes of very ripe fruit, figs, black fruit and a slight roast at the end. In the mouth it is a very powerful wine, with round tannins but very present. Fig flavour and a touch of mint. A long lasting after-taste.
Store and Serve Advices:
Ideal temperature to drink 18 ºC. Keep the bottle laid down; after opening, pour the wine in a decanter and drink within the following 24 hours.
Food Pairing:
It can be appreciated as an aperitif or on any other occasion. Ideal accompaniment to nuts, cheeses or deserts.
