If there’s one myth that deserves to be debunked, it’s the idea that good wines have to be expensive. In Portugal, fortunately, the reality is quite different — and today we bring you a selection of 12 incredible wines for under €12, perfect for everyday drinking, dinners with friends or simply to always have a good bottle to hand.
We start in the Douro with Dona Matilde Red, an easy-to-like, balanced wine with notes of ripe fruit that pair beautifully with simple dishes. Still in the same region, Costa Boal Field Blend Red offers a more intense profile, with good structure and a spicy touch that works particularly well with meat.
