Product details
The result of an exceptional late harvest on December 16, 2019, this wine originates from a single plot of Moscatel Galego Branco vines located on the Favaios plateau. Ideal weather conditions – rain and humidity in October, followed by weeks of cool, sunny weather – combined with the prolonged ripening time of the grapes on the vine, allowed for dehydration and the development of Botrytis cinerea, giving the wine a unique complexity. The harvest was strictly manual, carried out with extreme care, selecting only the bunches properly affected by noble rot. In the winery, the grapes were again selected and gently pressed, beginning a long fermentation in stainless steel tanks, which lasted for about six months. After fermentation, the wine aged for five years in old French oak barrels, previously used in older late harvests, acquiring concentration and depth.
