Dona Maria Francisca de Saboya, queen of Portugal, educated at the court of Versailles in the kingdom of Louis XIV, brought us the modernity of French cuisine, highlighting the “Liqueur de Griottes” (cherry liqueur), created by the famous cook François Pierre de la Varenne. In Óbidos, in 1677, the queen made her favorite liqueur whose recipe is reproduced in “Real Ginja d’Óbidos”, with the permission of the Portuguese Real House.
Tasting Notes:
It has deep cherry color and intense wild cherry nose. In the mouth it is creamy, intense wild cherry, smooth and super long lasting after taste.
Storage:
It must be stored vertically, in a dry place with a constant temperature between 10-20º and avoiding direct light.
Perfect Serve:
As an aperitif or digestive. Great combination with chocolate.
