Not to be missed: The latest Old&Rare news

First produced in 1990, Pêra Manca quickly became one of the country's most iconic wines.

The latest addition, the 2019 vintage, has just hit the market. This is the brand's second consecutive vintage, with around 35,000 bottles, and is described by the winemaker as ‘a Pêra-Manca that combines density, elegance and great freshness’.

If you are a collector, or simply a lover of this top wine from Adega Cartuxa, you should know that in our Old&Rare section you can also find other vintages of Pêra Manca Red, such as the still recent 2018.

On its own merits, Quinta do Vale Meão is truly one of Portugal's most interesting and coveted wines. It deserves to be highlighted for the quality it offers in every vintage it is released. The new 2023 vintage has just arrived, promising consistency and, for that very reason, promising to be another great wine.

Another recent release is the Série Ímpar Vinhas dos Homens, with only 4,307 bottles, a wine inspired by practices of the past, with minimal intervention, made from indigenous grape varieties from old vines in the Trás-os-Montes region. It presents well-integrated forest fruit with notes of forest and pine. On the palate, it has an elegant and defined attack, with fresh, gastronomic tannins, well integrated with an enveloping finish and well-balanced notes of spices. A terroir wine, high altitude, with a fresh and very elegant profile.

Sogrape's Série Ímpar range deserves our full attention for its peculiarity and uniqueness. In our Old&Rare section, you can find other editions, such as Sercialinho, Solitário, Curtimenta, and Palhete.

We couldn't finish without mentioning Chryseia 2023 (750 and 1500ml), considered by many to be the best Chryseia ever! A wine born from the partnership between Bruno Prats (Bordeaux) and Symington (Douro) to combine refinement and sophistication with the traditional profile of the Douro - 95 points in Revista de Vinhos/19 points in Vinho Grandes Escolhas.
