White Ports are similar to Tawnys in terms of the winemaking process and the type of ageing. The difference lies in the use of traditional white grape varieties from the region. They are usually very elegant and complex.
Grape Varieties:
Malvasia Fina,Rabigato,Viosinho,Verdelho
Tasting Notes:
Brilliant golden amber colour. Dried peach, golden raisin, and pear aromas. Medium-bodied with dried fruit, peppery spice, and delicate chalky minerality. Finishes with a drying fade of light tannin, dried fruit and a touch of white pepper.
Store and Serve Advices:
Bottle should be in the upright position, at a constant temperature and away from intense direct light. After opening, consume preferably in 18 to 20 weeks. Port wine is a natural wine, so it may form some natural sediment with time. Pour it carefully, so it does not become cloudy. Should be served at a temperature between 10º and 12º C.
Food Pairing:
To be served chilled as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to desserts.
