Casa do Valle is near the legendary Cavez Bridge, a place often mentioned in the work of the famous portuguese 19th century writer Camilo Castelo Branco, and spreads out, protected by the mountain ranges of Barroso and Alvao, along the hillsides of the river Tâmega. Wine production at Casa do Valle, property since many generations of the Sousa Botelho family, dates back to the 18th century.
The excellent exposure of the vines in this estate, located in the Basto sub-region, along with a carefull selection of grape varieties and winemaking processes, originates wines of recognized quality. In April 1996, to complement the activity, the Casa do Valle opened a guest house where visitors can relax, enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the region and learn more about these Vinho Verde wines from the Basto sub-region.
