Product details
This wine comes from a very special year and a particularly favourable harvest. The overripe grapes are harvested manually. This is followed by partial destemming and crushing in a traditional lagar (traditional stone trough). Maceration is carried out by foot for the first 24 hours, followed by alcoholic fermentation, which is interrupted by fortification (addition of grape brandy) at a time chosen by the winemaker, in order to achieve the desired final sweetness. The fortified wine ages for 2 years in oak vats used in our cellars in the Upper Douro. After careful tasting, the final blend is bottled without any filtration. During bottle aging, a natural sediment will form, so the wine should be decanted before serving.
