Product details
Founded in 1889, the Real Companhia Vinícola do Norte de Portugal, known in the slang of the people as the “Real Vinícola”, generates, at the time of its creation, a huge confusion between the two Royal Companies, the new and the Old Real Companhia dos Vinhos do Porto. And it is through the voice of the people and commercial jargon that the Pombalina Real Companhia, founded in 1756, began to be known as “Real Companhia Velha” and to use this designation as a trademark. The centenary Real Vinícola created under the auspices of the Marquês de Pombal became, over the years, a purely patrimonial company being acquired by the renowned Fladgate Partnership, owner of great Port wine brands such as Taylor’s.

Disclaimer:
The photo shown is a copy of one of the bottles we have available for delivery. Keep in mind that the older the wine, the more likely the bottle will have some external dirt or slightly damaged labels. This does not mean, however, that the wine is not in a condition to be consumed.
The wines from our rarity zone are stored and air-conditioned in the most correct way so that the wine ages correctly in the bottle, but over time, the wine evolves and changes its characteristics.
We recommend that you carefully remove the cork and let the wine air for some time in order to release its natural aromas. Avoid decanting as it can be a very aggressive operation for old wines.
