Looking for alternatives to coffee? We have several delicious suggestions

On average, each Portuguese drinks around 2.5 cups of coffee a day, which corresponds to an average coffee consumption of 5kg per person per year. We can therefore say that the Portuguese are generally excellent coffee drinkers, and for them we have Torrié coffees in our shop, a young, urban, dynamic and interactive brand, and Delta coffees, a brand that is at the top of the ranking of brands with a reputation for excellence in Portugal.

Coffee consumption is of course associated with personal taste, but there are also many people who only consume it to get the energy they need to fulfil their day-to-day tasks. For these people, today we have some suggestions for equally tasty alternatives.

Try Delta's cereal drinks. Cereals and fibre is an excellent option for those who prefer a hot drink that combines cereals with fibre. With no added sugars and only those naturally present in the cereals, this is a balanced formula with all the Delta flavour.

The barley drink, on the other hand, brings the best of cereals with all the flavour and nutritional properties of barley.

A slightly bolder alternative is Golden Milk. A blend of turmeric, ginger, black pepper, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg and cayenne pepper. A mixture with a high beneficial potential, widely used in traditional Indian medicine, Ayurveda. This mixture is traditionally consumed with heated vegetable milk. It has a spicy flavour and is a very stimulating drink.

Finally, our suggestion goes to kombucha. Kombucha is an ancient drink known in China as the ‘elixir of immortality’, which results from the fermentation of green tea with a culture of bacteria, yeast and sugar. Green tea, with its low caffeine content, can be a good alternative to coffee.

Although beneficial, excessive coffee consumption can interfere with sleep quality, causing insomnia, as well as altering the nervous or gastric systems. If you're one of those people who want to reduce their consumption, take a look at our suggestions today. They're just as delicious!
