At the end of the Serra da Marofa, between the valleys of the Côa and Águeda rivers, which flow into the Douro River, Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo is located, a village of wine tradition where high quality wines are produced.

It was around the 12th century that the Cistercian monks inhabited the Convent of Santa Maria de Aguiar and, with their knowledge, started the culture of the vineyard and the production of wine.

Today, the Adega Cooperativa de Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo assumes itself as heir to this Knowledge and Art. Founded in 1956, by 154 partners, it currently has 800.

Our Adega Cooperativa belongs to the Demarcated Region of Beira Interior and has predominant grape varieties: Síria and Malvasia Fina, for white wines and Marufo, Rufete, Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz for red wines.

Wines of unquestionable quality have always been created over the years, as confirmed by the considerable number of awards obtained, both nationally and internationally by our cellar.
