Menin Very Very Old Tawny Port

Port Wine
Almost opaque, such is its concentration, it very slowly traces the walls of the glass, in shades of dark amber, antique gold, with autumnal green reflections, a signature of the many generations it has passed through. The aromatic complexity transports us through the most diverse landscapes: aged forest heather honey, light resin and dried leaves, iodized maritime notes and, heading east, with fennel, cardamom and the finest saffron. On the palate... it touches us deeply. More than words and descriptors, a profusion of aromas, textures, flavours that simultaneously awaken and caress the senses. A wine of emotion, legacy and memory.

Winemaking:
Born in the heart of the Douro, this Very Very Old Tawny is a rare expression of the time, history, and identity of the region. Originating from pre-phylloxera vines planted on their own rootstock, it has aged slowly for approximately 150 years in the Douro, first in chestnut wood and later in cask, developing extraordinary complexity, depth, and elegance. Recognized and preserved by Menin Douro Estates, this wine represents a unique legacy of Port wine, reflecting the authenticity of the Douro and the house's commitment to valuing truly singular wines.

Store and Serve Advices:
The bottle should be stored upright, at a constant temperature, and away from intense direct light. Once opened, consume preferably within 20 to 24 weeks. Port wine is a natural wine, so it may form some natural sediment over time. Pour carefully to avoid cloudiness. It should be consumed at a temperature between 16° and 18°C.

Food Pairing:
Serve with dried fruit or caramel desserts.

Allergens:
Contains sulphites.

Disclaimer:
The photo shown is a copy of one of the bottles we have available for delivery. Keep in mind that the older the wine, the more likely the bottle will have some external dirt or slightly damaged labels. This does not mean, however, that the wine is not in a condition to be consumed.
The wines from our rarity zone are stored and air-conditioned in the most correct way so that the wine ages correctly in the bottle, but over time, the wine evolves and changes its characteristics.
We recommend that you carefully remove the cork and let the wine air for some time in order to release its natural aromas. Avoid decanting as it can be a very aggressive operation for old wines.
